`insaneone has a insane amount of attention for lighting, and positive negative space balance in his photos and manipulations. But I feel this shot, Batter Out, represents that best, plus it also has a timeless feel to it, the sharp focus shows the dirt on the ball and mitt and the ball's stitching, with the glove fading into black and disappearing saying everything about the (former) all-american sport’s current position in modern society. The wonderful technique combined with the message I got from it make this piece worth of a Daily Devaition in my eyes. (Suggested by *airbournevirus and Featured by $spinegrinder)

Beautiful lighting, it really lends itself to an ending, almost a loneliness. You can feel the disappointment of losing a hard fought game.

Lovely shot with great shadows :nod: I especially like the way the baseball looks old and used. Wouldn't have had the same effect with a brand new one I think.
(Yaay i got a baseball too recently =P )
